VCM, A DIVINE GIFT

VCM, A DIVINE GIFT
Dr Kanwal Jit Singh

Living a God-conscious life, a very tall order to fill indeed. Nevertheless, life becomes very blessed when one experiences consciously the Presence of God, not only during the actual meditation practice, but also experience the divine presence and live in the awareness of the Primordial Consciousness every single moment.

VCM is a path, which fulfills the conditions specified by the great religions of the world. This is the vibrant and dynamic path, which is not a difficult one to pursue, nor is it meant for chosen ones, but for everyone. Living a life in which the presence of God is ever felt is a very practical pursuit and one we were actually intended to live. The great Scriptures remind us that we are the image and likeness of God, we are the embodiment and reflection of the Supreme Spirit. Hence, our living also should be as spirit beings travelling through this world in a human vehicle and evoluting through the human experiences; a manifested expression of Divine Grace.

It was the destiny of the present-day Master, Bhai Sahib Ji, to bring forth to mankind VCM, which is cryptically described by him as a 3S system of Superconscious, Spontaneous Submission. This simple, natural and effortless system, lays stress on the total, complete and unconditional surrender and submission to the Divine within, whereupon wells up the Grace of God which manifests in us as a great GIFT, with its attendant nuances of Charismatic and Vibrant benevolent reactions.

The spiritual unfoldment that this Vibrant and Dynamic system of true and meaningful Meditation brings about in man is an evolutionary transformation, as he treads the Divine prompted path of spiritual enhancement. This also results in the healing of body, mind and soul; healing the body of disease not only by proper diet and rightful living, but by recharging oneself with the All-pervading Primordial Power and Presence of God.

It is imperative that one should experience this galaxy of cathartic reactions emphasised so emphatically by Bhai Sahib Ji. By the knowledge and practice of VCM, we become equipped to overcome the vicissitudes of daily life filled with fears, doubts, worries and anxieties with a sense of joy, sereneness, calmness, forgiveness, love and compassion. All this carries on while at the same time we are very secure in the knowledge that the loving God, the All-Protector is ever nurturing us and holding us in His loving embrace.

Behaving and living truthfully, righteously, harmoniously in accordance with and in submission to the Will and Guidance of God, the Naam Power or the Holy Spirit that lies within us, is the path of a Gurmukh, a Punjabi word for Godman (literally means 'face turned towards Guru')

Therefore, as the spiritual practice of VCM activates, ignites and vibrates the power of NAAM or Spirit of God within us, this inner manifestation eliminates troubling emotional problems like worry, anxiety, fear, doubt and other negative and base feelings. This is because the Divine guidance and direction that is already lying dormant in the inner self becomes aroused, awakened, and assumes rightly the role of Guide or Master, the GURU within. This is definitely not something new that is implanted inside the individual at the time of the awakening, but the activation of what is already present inside, fixed and eternal, except it was lying dormant but has manifested into life to bring about a wholesome transformation within you. It acts and continues to do so by Itself and It will further flower and bloom, catalysed by your eager responsive submission to its working.

Such a wonderful and glowing gift from God to man should be within the capability and the right of everyone to receive and own it. The activated power, once it gets started, does not require any concerted mind effort to keep it alive, rather, we should be mindful of its continued presence and not let our mind be an obstacle to its operation. Trust, believe, and spontaneously be moved by the Spirit but do not attempt to move the Spirit.

To be in continuous constant unceasing harmony and union with God is a continuous constant and unceasing prayer. In work, at play, at leisure, in sleep and in awakened states, in every aspect of our daily living be in tune with God's Presence and be aware of it all the time.

This dynamic meditation is a manifestation of God-power, which we receive in His Grace and it is a state of life. He does not want us dead unto ourselves in the literal sense, but alive, vibrant, alert active and aware of His Presence. This vibration or movement, which exists within us, develops further our discernment capabilities and the potential to receive and know the Divine.

The vibrant power once awakened does not leave us but stays with us in all walks of life and our very action becomes worship. This is subject to the fact that one sincerely, eagerly and persistently continues with the sacred practice to bring into fruition the God Power awakened within us into our daily activities. This then is the unceasing prayer, where the awakened power is allowed to flow freely through us guiding us to live as Spirit controlled men and women ie as spirit beings, whereby, the power of God progressively becomes amalgamated into our every activity.

See yourself as the centre of Light, Love and Power, always receiving from the eternal source within yourself the radiant divine qualities. Such is the life prescribed for a householder. In ordinary language it means that even if one has family, social and community responsibilities, one still remains detached. In spiritual circles it means, while living in this world be not of the world, be detachedly attached and not be devoured or destabilised by worldly attractions.

Be like the Lotus flower which lives in mirky and dirty waters of a pond, yet it rides high and proud above the water level and does not allow the water to dominate it.

Be like the sandalwood tree which grows in the forest and poisonous snakes coil around it, yet is not affected by them, moreover continues to emanate fragrance.

However bewildering and frustrating may be the search for spiritual fulfilment in this distracting and attracting world, VCM practice will effortlessly indicate and lead you beyond the stranglehold and chains of mundane existence by equipping you with the trusted tools to realise the true purpose of life in this world.
