Art by Henry Niese: "Sequence of Earlier Heaven"
Full of color and symmetrical designs these works of art are representative of "Mandala", the sanskrit term referring to an object of meditation, centering, and concentration-the paintings are quite large ranging in size from 8 feet by 8 feet to 9 x 15.
Niese's spiritual, mystical art reflect his Native American heritage in both style and content. Having studied in Paris at the Academie de la Grande Chaunmiere he became aquainted with Pablo Picasso.
"A lot of these paintings just come into being," Niese said. "The object of these painting is not to be specific, but to evoke a different feeling in the spectator. They are all abstract rather than objective".
